Gene Menez Reveals Top Picks and Predictions for Belmont Stakes 2024 at Saratoga Race Course
Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott is aiming for his second win at the Belmont Stakes, also known as the Test of the Champion, by entering Wood Memorial winner Resilience in the 2024 race at Saratoga Race Course. Mott, 70, has previously started nine horses in the Belmont Stakes, with his only victory coming from Drosselmeyer in 2010. This year, his horse Resilience is considered a 10-1 longshot in the Belmont Stakes odds. Meanwhile, Kentucky Derby runner-up Sierra Leone is the 9-5 favorite. Other top contenders include the lightly raced Mindframe (7-2) and Kentucky Derby winner Mystik Dan (5-1).

Top 2024 Belmont Stakes Predictions
One surprise: Menez is completely excluding Mystik Dan from his picks, despite the colt’s victories in the Kentucky Derby and a second-place finish in the Preakness Stakes. Mystik Dan, known for squeezing through tight spots on the track, won a three-horse photo finish in the Kentucky Derby five weeks ago and followed it up with a strong performance in the Preakness.
However, Mystik Dan has a tendency to underperform after significant efforts, and the Belmont Stakes will be his third race in five weeks. "I think Mystik Dan will struggle to deliver another top-notch performance," Menez told SportsLine. He is not including Mystik Dan in any of his wagers.
